New to forum. Need advice please

Hi, I'm a mum in Perth of 2 young girls. My eldest is displaying a lot of the qualities of being gifted. She started kindy which is 2.5 days a week here and based at a school. I was excited for her to be starting school because she is so ready to learn. But a term has passed, at our local public school, and she is bored. She doesn't want to go to school. I'm pretty sure she hasn't learned anything new this term. She gets in trouble for talking during rest time. She hates it because its very boring. I have a feeling they are left to rest for too long. I also feel that her teacher doesn't understand her. She probably thinks she's being naughty when she is refusing to do activities but I'm pretty sure my daughter thinks its a waste of time. At the end of term I received a letter saying that they have been taught numbers 1-5, nursery rhymes, cutting and writing their names. My daughter has known all of that for the last few years. She's still learning to write and her cutting needs practice but I'm certain just learning about nursery rhymes would be boring for her. Anyway she doesn't want to go to school. I thought she would love it. This school is in walking distance and I like the idea of the community and having friends local. But I'm starting to question whether or not I should move her to a different school. Or just ride out kindy and hope that full time school next year is better?? I'm not sure about questioning the teacher as I have no back up that my daughter is def. gifted. Should I go to the principal and find out about their policy in regards to gifted and talented students or would they just laugh at me??

Any advice or ideas would be most appreciated. Thanks so much for reading.

Its better if you don't question any of the school authority as it will not be good rather I would suggest you to take her to a new school where there are more co curricular activities. You can have a look here

Better to home school her. She will more likely develop better socially and academically that way. The Public, and increasingly the private, school sector is there to dumb children down to an obedient level of servitude. If you put your kid in a public school you will have problems. Take a look at the ACE Home School curriculum. It's a fully approved Level A Cambridge curriculum operating out of Queensland.
