exhaustion

Just wondering if anyone else feels as tired out by their gifted child as I do? My gifted son is 5 and he constantly wants me to do maths, language activities etc with him, or play chess endlessly. I have a three and a half year old and a ten month old as well, so I just can't do all the things he wants me too...I feel guilty, but tired out too.

Re: exhaustion

I found the same thing with my two. The eldest is gifted, and his sister is 23 months younger.
The thing I found most helpful was to put my daughter to bed an hour before her brother, and use that time as our special quality time, to do maths or reading with him. He looked forward to it, and didn't ask as often through the day. Or, as they napped at different times, to use that time as well, if he wanted to. (The dishes can wait another half hour, and the washing is better sorted when the kids are in bed.) You will find it easier when he is at kindergarten, and he is learning new things. Then you can spend time with your other two children.
I hope this helps :)
