CHIP Foundation

CHIP Foundation was formed in 1987, to cater for the needs of Children of High Intellectual Potential.  It aims to encourage the development and education of these children, and to support those around them.

Psychologists Professor Brian Start and Dr Glen Alsop provide assessment and counselling services for children and their families.  They were founding members of CHIP, and have many years experience working with gifted children.  They liaise with schools and teachers to enhance outcomes.

Professional development services for teachers and schools are tailored to the particular requirements identified.  Areas covered could include such things as identification of CHIP within the classroom, assessment of CHIP, differentiation of curriculum or mutually beneficial liaison with parents.

A comprehensive education program is conducted throughout the year at various venues around Melbourne and Regional Victoria.  In addition to an after-school program and holiday program, schools can negotiate a with-in school hours program for their students.
