Learning Difficulties

Discussion of learning difficulties included mention of bright children.  They often cover for problems in their learning with alternative skills, and hence may not be diagnosed as early as otherwise expected.  Specific case discussed spelling problems for a 9 year old boy, recently diagnosed with auditory processing difficulties.  Not previously suspected by his parents as generally very bright.  Panellist expert suggested contact with SPELD - Specific Learning Difficulties, support for Parents.
